URBAN LEARNING - Integrative energy planning of urban areas
Collective learning for improved governance

Peer education

The Amsterdam municipality has its own training institute for civil servants. During the long summer period, two of the members of the Urban Learning Local working group, have lectured on ' Energy in area development'. In the 3-hour course, the main lessons from Urban Learning up till now have been transferred to about ten colleagues.

The main topics discussed included the need for a new urban planning process, adjustments to be made, new promising techniques and data availability. The group was rather multidisciplinary, which gave new insights to the discussions. We are happy that some colleagues are now much better informed about both the need to give energy a higher priority in Amsterdam and some promising approaches.
